Why “Rock Five”?

“Rock Five” isn’t just a name—it’s a nod to service, sacrifice, and leadership. Rock Five was one of Mark’s Army call signs, earned during his time serving our country. His experience at West Point and in the U.S. Army played a defining role in shaping the principles that guide our business today.

Honoring the military and the sacrifices made by so many is deeply important to us. The discipline, accountability, and teamwork learned through service are values we carry into every project we take on.

Mark’s Story (Rock 5)

Mark began his career at West Point, where he developed the leadership skills and work ethic that would guide him throughout his professional life. After graduating, he was deployed multiple times, serving as an Army Executive Officer (XO) and leading soldiers in high-pressure, real-world environments where precision, trust, and teamwork were non-negotiable. When Mark transitioned out of the military, he brought those same standards into Corporate America. He was recruited as a project manager overseeing large-scale construction projects, where he continued to lead teams, manage complex operations, and deliver results. Through hard work and a people-first leadership style, he earned multiple promotions—once again finding himself responsible for building strong teams and successful outcomes.

Candice’s Story (Rock 6)

Candice’s background is rooted in leadership and operations. Shortly after graduating college, she began managing teams in fast-paced, performance-driven environments. Her early career included leading sales and design teams in magazine operations and publishing, where organization, communication, and attention to detail were essential. She later transitioned into recruiting, where she specialized in building high-performing teams by finding the right people for the right roles. Candice’s ability to lead, organize, and support operations plays a critical role in how Rock Five Fence runs day to day.

Mark and Candice met in Corporate America, where their professional paths intersected in a unique way. Candice led a team of recruiters responsible for staffing all of Mark’s field operations across five states. Working together, they discovered a shared passion for excellence, leadership, and building teams that people are proud to be part of.
